Megan works as both a Dental Hygienist and Therapist at Confident Dental and Implant Clinics Group, based in our Cleevelands, Bishop’s Cleeve Clinic. Megan qualified with an Honours degree from the University of Birmingham in 2020 with a dual qualification in Dental Hygiene and Therapy.

As a hygienist, Megan works alongside our Dentists to help to prevent and treat gum disease. This includes education on how best to prevent the progression of gum disease, active gum treatment using Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) and conventional scaling as well as maintenance appointments to try to keep the gums stable. GBT is a relatively new technology which uses an 8-step process to disrupt the biofilm (bacteria) surrounding our teeth which cause gum disease, decay, and infection around implants. This treatment is comfortable and efficient and welcomed by all patients, especially those who are slightly more nervous or have sensitive teeth.

As a Dental Therapist, Megan treats referred restorative treatments from our Dentists to complete under a prescription. This can include fillings on any tooth surface for both adults and children, extractions of baby teeth and fissure sealants which are a protective coating to help to protect teeth from decay.

Megan is currently undertaking further training in a year-long Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry for Dental Therapists. This will increase Megan’s knowledge of the most up to date techniques used to plan and complete treatment.

When outside of work Megan enjoys going for walks in the countryside and visiting different Cotswold villages with her family. She also loves spending time with friends and planning trips to different European cities with her sisters.
