Dr Paul Hughes BDS, DPDS, MFGDP RCS (GDC 85249)

Dr Hughes is a general dentist associate at Confident Dental Care & Implant Clinic.

Since graduating from Cardiff Dental School in 2005, Paul has been working predominantly in private practices in the Somerset area. Though he is Scottish by birth, Paul considers himself a West country lad having now resided here over 20 years. Dr Hughes enjoys the varied nature of working in general dental practice, but in particular he enjoys placement of aesthetic tooth-coloured composite restorations and saving teeth with root canal treatment. Dr Hughes enjoys working as part of a close team to provide both preventive and restorative care to his patients and has undertaken significant continuing professional development to help him carry out this work to the best of his ability, including a postgraduate diploma through Bristol University. Dr Hughes has completed training to provide treatment under sedation – great news for patients that might be phobic, anxious or worried about gagging or longer procedures.

Dr Hughes is always striving to provide the best for his patients and is actively undertaking continuous additional training, including the provision of sedation and same day crown and onlay treatments using the Cerec one visit restoration technique.  Ultimately, Paul aims to treat his patients as he would his own family by providing minimally invasive dentistry and preserving as much of your natural tooth structure as is possible.

Dr Hughes lives in Bath with his wife and 2 young daughters. When not working or on Daddy duties, Paul is a fitness enthusiast and will usually be at the gym or training towards his next running event, or following the mixed fortunes of Bath Rugby.
