Dr Joel Thomas

BDS, MFDS RCSEd, MClinDent Perio, M Perio RCSEd

Dr Joel Thomas is a specialist Periodontist for Confident Dental and Implant Clinics Group, working in Stroud. Dr Joel graduated from Bristol University and started working as a general dentist in Worcestershire. Whilst in Worcestershire, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, gaining his MFDS post graduate qualification.

Joel’s main passion has always been in surgical dentistry; he went on to gain two years’ experience as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Senior House Officer. Following on from this he was awarded a place on the Periodontal Specialist training (MClinDent) at Guy’s Hospital, London.

Alongside completing this four year course, he taught undergraduate students in the Periodontal department and worked as a Periodontist in multiple private practices around London.

Joel has published numerous articles and has presented his work at multiple national conferences.
He has an extremely empathetic and caring manner towards patients.

Dr Joel is a keen sportsman and enjoys keeping fit. He is an ex-international waterpolo player and still loves his time in the swimming pool. Joel grew up in Cheltenham and has now started a family of his own in the area with two young children.
