Furthermore, Dr Colin Neil is a member and mentor for the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) www.adi.org.uk which is a registered charity dedicated to providing dentists with continuing implant education and the public with a greater understanding of the benefits of dental implants. Dr Colin Neil is also a certified member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry www.saad.org.uk

Dr Ewa Rozwadowska is founder and joint Principal Dentist of Confident Dental Care with Dr Colin Neil. She has been practicing in the Stroud area since 1979 and has extensive experience in finding solutions to even the most complex dental problems. Her motto is to ‘help people be the best they can be’ and this applies to both patients and team members. As well as attending numerous courses in the UK, Dr Rozwadowska has trained in America, Australia, Ireland, Hong Kong and Italy. She has achieved many awards for treatment and excellence within dentistry, was the first UK dentist to achieve the Investors in People (IIP) award and has been featured in various publications including Harpers magazine and Cotswold Life. She is currently a dental consultant for Renishaw plc Dental Division, is an editorial board member of ‘The Probe’ and a judge for ‘The Probe Awards’,the equivalent of the Dental Oscars! Dr Rozwadowska is married to Andrzej and has 2 children; Aleksandra is a qualified dentist working in Bristol and Pawel is at Marling School in Stroud.

Dr Colin Neil is the joint owner and Principal Dentist with Dr. Ewa Rozwadowska at Confident Dental Care.

He graduated from the University of Bristol Dental School and received many prestigious awards recognising his excellence in restorative/cosmetic dentistry, dentures and oral medicine and the overall prize for clinical work.

Since graduation, Dr. Neil won sponsorship from a major dental indemnity provider to work with specialists in cosmetic and implant dentistry in Los Angeles and San Francisco and has since travelled widely (Sweden, Paris, Pakistan, U.S.A., Germany) to obtain and maintain the latest training in implant dentistry from acknowledged experts.

Dr. Neil is experienced in providing oral surgery and in dealing with anxious patients, including gentle and empathetic treatment with optional oral and IV sedation available if required, having successfully helped many patients receive treatment when they would have otherwise struggled with anxiety, gagging or simply for enhanced patient comfort during longer procedures such as implant treatments, since Dr. Neil developed sedation skills while working as a senior house officer in Taunton Hospital and has completed the Diploma in Conscious Sedation course at Guy’s Hospital/King’s College, London. Dr Neil has also accepted the prestigious teaching role of Lead Clinican for the University of Central Lancashire’s Conscious Sedation for Dentistry Certificate and Diploma postgraduate courses.

Dr. Neil has achieved the Diploma of Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (England) and has also completed a postgraduate Masters degree in Implant Dentistry (MSc) at Warwick University for whom he now works as an examiner, visiting academic and Clinical Teacher helping to teach other dentists submitting work for their Masters Degree in Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Neil is an accredited Clinical Coach for Astra Tech Dental Implants and a mentor for other dentists through the Association of Dental Implantology mentor scheme and accepts referrals from other dentists for implant, bone/sinus grafting and sedation treatments. He was the only U.K. based dentist to be selected to make a presentation at the 2010 World Congress of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) in Hamburg, Germany where he was also awarded his Fellowship of the organisation.

In his spare time, Dr. Neil enjoys keeping fit, adventurous travel and loves to combine these hobbies with SCUBA diving in warm waters!

We are very fortunate to have Monica Neil as part of our team. She is a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry, providing specialist high quality dental treatment for children and is currently accepting referrals and seeing new patients. Monica completed her Specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry at Guy’s Hospital, London, passing her Membership in Paediatric Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She has also passed an MSc in Paediatric Dentistry with Merit from King’s College, London which has helped to ensure she is providing evidence based dentistry to an optimal standard. Her research has been published in internationally renowned journals including eight publications in the ‘International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry’ and she has been invited to lecture on her paediatric dental research across the world including Germany, Egypt and China. She has won multiple national and regional prizes including two prizes awarded by the British Dental Association. Monica has an interest in managing children who are anxious or have behavioural problems or special needs and can provide Inhalation Sedation effectively to help patients relax if this is required. She is experienced in managing dental trauma, aesthetically restoring traumatised anterior teeth and paediatric endodontics including use of MTA. She routinely restores carious teeth providing pulp therapy and preformed metal (“stainless steel”) crowns if required, takes radiographs of children as required and provides specialist care for children with medical problems, hypoplastic teeth and hypodontia. Monica also works for the specialist services in Surrey where she currently treats children under General Anaesthetic if required and is the Paediatric Dentist on the Multidisciplinary team for children with Cleft Lip and/or Palate at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

If you are a parent – please ask for your child to see Monica if your child struggles or is worried about seeing the dentist or if you do not want them to have a bad dental experience which may make them phobic. This may be for example, because they require extractions as advised by their orthodontist prior to braces. Perhaps your child is autistic or has other medical needs and you would like to ensure comprehensive care to avoid dental problems. You may simply like them to have a specialist dental exam to ensure they avoid future dental problems or you would like specialist advice on how to prevent dental caries.

If you are a local dentist – with a child patient who is failing to cooperate, needs extensive or complicated dental treatment, requires multiple fillings or has fillings which keep falling out then please refer these patients to Monica. She may either, at your request,

1. complete one course of treatment and then once the patient is dentally fit, return them to your continuing care for prevention;

2. help to acclimatise an uncooperative patient, then return a happy patient to yourself for ongoing care or

3. retain patients who require long term care if you wish this.

Mrs Natalie Wooldridge

Natalie joined the team at Confident Dental Care in September 2007. Natalie studied Business and Marketing at the University of the West of England and she has progressed through various marketing roles over the past 9 years. Most recently in the last 2 years, she entered the world of Dentistry,working on the Renishaw inciseTM process; an all-ceramic crown and bridge production process, marketing health benefits to the dental industry and patients alike. Although Natalie is the most recent person to join Practice, she has worked closely with Dr Rozwadowska and her team for the past two years, co-ordinating the Clinical evaluation of the Renishaw inciseTM program. Some of you may remember her as the ‘one behind the camera’ from photographing you during documentation of crown and bridge case studies!!! After developing a clear passion for the Dental industry and now joining us here at Confident Dental Care, she will be helping to develop the Practice to ensure you are offered the very best dental solutions and choices available to you. Natalie works with us  part-time; the rest of her time she is kept busy with her 2 young daughters, Holly and Lauren.

Mrs Jane Milsom

Jane qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1983 and has many years experience working in National Health and Private Dental Practices. We were very pleased to welcome Jane to our team in 2005. Jane works full time looking after both adults and children. She enjoys motivating and educating patients to achieve the healthiest mouths possible. Jane is also instrumental in designing our ‘Future Smiles’ children’s week and motivates children to look after their teeth. Jane is a member of the Gloucestershire Independent Hygienists Association and regularly attends training days.

Mrs Jocelyn Harding

Jocelyn has been a hygienist for 16 years and worked extensively in many practices and locations in numerous countries including, Gibralter, Hong Kong and Hawaii. She has been a dental nurse and hygienist in the Royal Navy for 9 years. Her time in the Navy gave her some great experiences including being winched out of helicoptors, treating sailors onboard submarines and ships and diving in the Philippines. Jocelyn moved to Gloucestershire 8 years ago has recently joined the team at Confident Dental Care, working with us two and a half days a week. Like Jane, Jocelyn enjoys educating and motivating adults and children to achieve the healthiest mouths possible. Jocelyn has already become very popular with patients due to her attention to detail. She has a wonderful bubbly personality and an extremely positive attitude. Joss is a member & treasurer of the Gloucestershire Independent Hygienists Association and regularly attends training days.

Miss Rowan Braddick

Rowan (Ro) has been with Confident Dental Care since 1999 and is our Senior Dental Nurse/ Care-coordinator. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2001 and gained her Dental Radiography qualification in 2002. She then proceeded to gain the Oral Health Educators qualification in 2005 and in 2006, gained a Diploma in Patient Education and Care coordination. Ro works with Dr Rozwadowska where they work closely with patients using their advanced skills in aesthetics and complex dentistry to create healthy, confident smiles. Ro is the practice oracle and is always willing to help with solving the simplest of problems. She is responsible for the smooth running of all clinical aspects of the practice and team. Her enthusiastic and bubbly personality make her a very special member of the Confident Dental Team.

Mrs Lesley Reed

Lesley has been our Senior Patient Advisor at Confident Dental Care for 3 years. She originally qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1979. Since then she has worked as a Dental Nurse and Receptionist in many busy practices for both the National Health Service and Private practices. Lesley is at the forefront of the practice and enjoys ensuring that you experience a smooth professional journey with us. With her everlasting smile, there could not be a better person to meet and greet patients as they walk through the door. Lesley is a much valued member of our team and is always willing to help.

Sue is our newest member of the team and joined us in August 2010. Sue works alongside Lesley to ensure that you are given a smooth, professional patient journey through your treatment at the practice. Sue also assists with the business accounting using her knowledge of spreadsheets and kean interest in numbers!! Sue has exceptional interpersonal skills and some of you may know her from hatching, matching or despatching a family member at the register office! Welcome Sue.

Cheryl returned from maternity leave in 2009 and is currently working part-time as Dr Neils Dental Nurse. Cheryl qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2001 in Devon where she worked in a Corporate Practice for 6 years. Cheryl is also completing a specialist implant nurses qualification which will enable her to assist Dr Neil with his implant duties. She too has completed the foundation course in sedation & will be completing the official qualification in sedation! Cheryl has a relaxed nature with staff & patients alike and has a very infectious laugh! We are glad to have Cheryl back from maternity leave. Cheryl is back with the team for 3 days a week.

Congratulations to Kelly who passed her Radiography qualification in July 2010!! Kelly joined us in July 2008 and is Dr Neil’s full time Dental Nurse. Kelly is becoming more involved in dental implant nursing and sedation along with general dental care. She has completed a foundation course in sedation and is about to embark on a full sedation qualification – what a mouthfull! After a break from Dental Nursing, , Kelly spent 6 months working as a Dental Assessor, assisting teaching students about Oral Health Care. Originally from Hastings, Kelly has rapidly become a Gloucestershire convert and is enjoying the beautiful countryside!

Ms Sue Hayden

Sue has worked with Dr Rozwadowska for 18 years. She qualified as a Dental nurse in 1990 and then went on to study Dental Radiography, qualifying in 1997. Sue started a family in 1999 and now works part-time supporting the clinical team. She is a relaxed, calm and very knowledgeable member of the Confident team.

Hannah is our newest member of the clinical team and is Ewa’s full time dental nurse. Hannah qualified in February 2009 and has been working in general practice ever since. Hannah has already picked up 4-handed dentistry to add to her skill base and hopes to further her career by studying Oral Health Education. Hannah is not one to do things by halves, she is already planning a sky dive later in the Summer for charity, along with various other team members (watch our news page for regular updates!).
